The function of the Bylaws Committee is to ensure the
chapter Bylaws conform to the National Bylaws.In addition, the Bylaws Committee is responsible for amending and
distributing the chapter’s Standing Rules.Rights of membership are granted, or limited only in the Bylaws.Standing Rules are for administrative
convenience only.
Work
with the President to review the Chapter Bylaws and to make any necessary
local amendments (after a vote of the membership as described in Article
XIII) that affect the dues structure.
Submit
any amendments to National WCR for approval. Local bylaws in conflict with
the model bylaws will not be approved
Change
local bylaws to match any changes or amendments made to local bylaws by
National. These are automatically binding:simply notice to your members, there is no Board or Membership
vote.
Members
must be notified of any changes to the local or National bylaws.
Develop
and review the Standing Rules annually with the President and
President-elect. These must be voted on and approved by a majority of the
Governing Board EACH YEAR.
After
approval of the Standing Rules, the membership must be notified and provided
copies.
Rights
of membership are granted, or limited, only in the bylaws, never in the
Standing Rules which are for administrative convenience only.
Work
closely with the Parliamentarian if the Chapter has one.
